I know, I know, I'm a horrible slacker. But last Friday was New Year's Day and then Saturday was Tim and Becky's wedding, and since then things have just been.. crazy. That's the only way I know how to describe it. As embarrassed as I am to be this late posting, I didn't want to let 29 weeks go by without giving it proper recognition.
So without further ado:You're 29 weeks pregnant!
Thanks to your ever-expanding uterus, it's time to welcome back the constant bathroom dashes. And try your best to forget about any emerging varicose veins -- they might be ugly, but they're harmless and should fade after delivery. Until then, avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time and make sure to get some exercise (it'll boost your circulation).Baby's now the size of a squash!
This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain — which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester. Baby's energy is surging, thanks to white fat depositing beneath his skin. And since he's growing so fast (weight will triple by birth), things are getting kind of cramped in the womb. What all this means for you: Get ready for some more kicks and jabs to the ribs.from me!
Baby is moving and kicking and turning and twisting ALL THE TIME! It's nice knowing that everything is okay in there, and that Baby is strong and growing. Of course, I would guess that anyone from the morning sickness that I AM STILL HAVING! It's crazy.. I certainly hope that my other pregnancies go easier than this one.. because it's hard enough WORKING and throwing up, I can only imagine feeling like this and chancing a toddler or two.. whew!
Side note- Nesting is in full swing, just ask Micah.
Just 72 days last! See you Friday for week 30!
