I'm a big kid now

Now I like being an adult and all, but sometimes it's just plain tough. Like today, Micah and I sat down to look over our finances. Since both of us were out of work this past month, our numbers in black have been getting smaller and smaller. While all the money went to a good cause, i.e. enjoying time with our huge family, it still leaves a gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Thankfully, Micah had the week drill in Kodiak which gave us enough to make it through May, but now here it is June and I'm feeling a mite peekish. This has led to my current activity: completing my resume. For some reason the .doc version is giving me trouble with the formatting so I'm trying to work out the kinks so I can apply for some jobs to start bringing in the $$$.

As far as jobs, there aren't any at the University right now and probably won't be until fall comes to town. Which means I am looking elsewhere for employment. Right now I'm taking a gander at the Anchorage School District. There are several clerical and administrative positions open right now, one at an elementary school less than two miles from us, right behind Russian Jack Park. That would be nice. I could maybe even right my (Matt's) bike there in nice weather.

In the mean time, Micah is going to be completing the rest of his drills days for the Coast Guard, finishing them up before the semester starts. Speaking of school, please be in prayer for the financial aid. They're giving us the run around about getting approved, wanting to give Micah just $650 for the Pell Grant when in past times he's gotten over $2000 and I've gotten $2500. It just doesn't make sense considering neither one of us is working right now and based on last year's tax return we made pocket change, if that. He's going in to talk to the Financial Aid office either today or tomorrow to try and make sense of all this.

Tonight we have a concert at ABT (got to love the Superpass!), Everyday Sunday is what the group is called.. I think. I've heard of them but have never actually heard their music. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Pictures: None yet. I have at least 7 events and then some to sort through between the family days, birthdays, conventions, camps, and weddings.. whew! Believe it or now, I'm actually tired of taking pictures. The camera hasn't left my side in the last week and a 1/2 and I'm ready to give the both of us a wee little break.

Alright- time for work. Ta ta!
