Mother-Daughter Time, with a three-hour time difference...

For Christmas this year I wanted to do something special from me to Momma. What that ended up being was a copy of the "Sisterchicks' Devotional: Take Flight!" for each of us.

Over the last few years, Mom and I have been reading the Sisterchicks Series by Robin Jones Gunn, one of our favorite authors. Well, a few years ago Robin and HER sisterchick, Cindy, co-wrote a devotional, and I've been wanting a copy ever since.

Well, who wants to do the Sisterchick Devotional with a sisterchick of her own? Doesn't that kind of defeat the whole purpose?

Yes, it does.

So Mom and I are doing it together. We're reading one devotion a week, writing down our thoughts about it, then calling each other on Saturday and sharing our deepest and innermost thoughts and feeling.

Today's call lasted a total of two hours, what with the devotions in addition to the general weekly "catching up."

With all the miles that separate us, especially in light of only being able to see each other two or three times a year, it's so wonderful to have this time set aside, just for the two of us.

Mother-Daughter time.
