Yesterday was so crazy! When on the phone with him last night, Micah said that at least my day [Sunday] wasn't as busy as my Saturday. I laughed and said, "No, it was busier." He didn't believe me until I told him what my day was like. Then he agreed with me.
Ok, the day started off with me waking up at 7 am to get ready for church and finish my lesson for SS. The plan was to leave by 8:45. Why does this family never leave on time? We ended up leaving at 9:15, nearly 30 minutes after the set time. That right there would mean that I would be rushed at Church to locate what I needed for crafts, etc. I like to be at church by 9:30 so I have time to relax, pray, and get things together in an orderly fashion. I don't like to be still rushing around and getting things when my class starts arriving. By the time they get there, I want to be sitting in the tiny chair and the head of the table, already working on one of our activities so they can jump right in and not stand there until 10:00.
Also, at this same time, I had to get the number for Sears. All weekend long I had been trying to call them to find out when I had to work next. And all weekend long I could never get through. Something was wrong with the phones and it wouldn't pick up. Not good. I brought the number with me and was going to try calling again during song service. I just had this feeling that I would have to work that afternoon.
As soon as Sunday School was over, all the little kids piled into my Sunday School classroom and Mom and I shook jingle bells as Sister Rebekah practiced the song with them. Then I took the little kids out to sit on the front row. We sat there for a few minutes, trying to keep them from shaking their bells [not an easy task for five-year-olds!]. Then they lined up across the front and sang:
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle everyday.
Oh what fun it is to ____ and work and sing and pray. Hey!
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle everyday.
We jingle for Jesus with our lives in many different ways.
Oh something like that. Sister Rebekah wrote it.
Well, the song was a hit and as soon as the kids went to sit down, I rushed to the back and practiced with Katie, Gracee, and Morgan. After a dozen practices, they went to nervously await their grand debut.
When Brother Campbell called me up, I went with Bible in hand. The song that I had taught the girls was entitled "Call To Me" and it comes directly from scripture. Jeremiah 33:2,3.
2Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;
3Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
That verse 3 has remained one of my favorite verses for as long as I have known this song. I spoke of how we can call on God at Christmastime same as we can the rest of the year. That if we call to God, He WILL answer us. He has promised us that. He will answer us and show us great and mighty thing, which we don't know. All the answers that we are looking for, to things that we don't understand, He will show us it all.
And then my girls did the song. I sat on the front pew in case they forgot any of the signs, but I might as well have been sitting in the back of the church because they did GREAT! I am so proud of all three of them. :)
My goodness. All this and we're not even to the main part yet!
As soon as they finished, I went out to call work. FINALLY, I got through and got a hold of Katy, one of the managers. I asked her when I was suppose to work next. There was a slight pause and then she said, "Well, actually, you're suppose to be here at 12."
12? As it 15 minutes from now, 12?
Yeah, that 12.
AHHH! I went back inside the Church and told Dad and then went down and sat on the pew. The next thing I know, Dad leans down and says "Megan, are we going?" I guess I was in shock or something cause I had just plopped down like I was going to stay the rest of the service!
Dad drove me home where I got changed and then he turned around and went back to Church [where they had an awesome service and a Message and Interpretation!] and I went to work. Clocked in 40 minutes late, but I was there.
It had me slightly miffed because Rodney knows better than to schedule me before 1 on Sundays. I have responsibilities, and God comes first. So I told him that I wasn't available at 12, because of Church. He looked straight at me and said, "Every Sunday?" Lol. I looked back at him and said, "It doesn't change."
Crazy. Well, that's still only half my day, but I've wasted half an hour sitting here without my contacts so bye! Work at 10. Talk tonight. Love ya and all that good stuff.
